FORUM 2008 - INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

The American Society of Theatre Consultants Annual Forum in NY, NY slated not to host the ASTC Internship Program

ASTC is the professional society of theatre consultants in North America. Our membership consists of practicing theatre consultants who strive to provide the utmost of professional service in the field of theatre consulting. In the spirit of our organization, we recognize our responsibility to further our profession by providing a means for students of theatre and architecture who may be interested in pursuing a career in the field of theatre consulting to learn the scope of work involved.

This years' Forum has been scheduled to coincide with the first North American Theatre Engineering and Architecture Conference at Pace University in New York City. Due to the nature of the conference, and the previous commitments of ASTC members to serve as panelists, the Board of ASTC felt that it would be preferable to forego sponsoring the Internship Program for this Forum, rather than offering a diminished opportunity for those who might participate.

ASTC members who are participating in the conference are likely to be in New York from July 19th through July 22nd and interested parties are encouraged to contact members individually to schedule a session if the members' schedule permits. Internship candidates are further encouraged to contact a local member or office regarding other opportunities that may be available.

ASTC will resume sponsoring the Internship Program at the next practicable opportunity under the following guidelines:

ELIGIBILITY: The seminar will be limited to eight students. Interns should either be an undergraduate beginning their senior year or graduate student enrolled in a university Theatre or Architecture department. Applications must be endorsed by a faculty member.

COST: $150 - includes all tours, social events and associated meals. Two scholarships will be available based on need.

TRAVEL AND HOUSING: Candidates who are accepted into the Internship Program are responsible for all travel and housing expenses associated with participation in the Program.
